RETIREMENT Preparing for retirement can create many emotions and it may seem difficult to navigate. The Insurance & Benefits department is here for you. The Pre-Retirement Seminar can help prepare for the unknown. Our highly trained staff of Specialists will help every step of the way. Whether it is determining the Early Retirement date, how to use or defer sick and vacation balances to avoid paying taxes or health benefit information, our Specialists can help. The Insurance & Benefits Division of Human Resources Department conducts seminars every other month throughout the City. Presenters from HR-Insurance & Benefits, Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA), New Mexico Retiree Health Care Authority, ICMA-RC, Nationwide and Valic (Deferred Compensation providers) will be available to answer questions. The next Pre-Retirement Seminar will be held on October 23, 2018, at the Albuquerque Museum, 2000 Mountain Road N.W. – the seminar will begin at 8:30 a.m. and last until 12:00 p.m. Please call (505) 768-3758 or send an email to employeebenefits@cabq.gov to pre-register, as seating is limited. Parking is free and spouses are welcome!
